Germany’s first electric car charging station

evergreen-solar_rr622_69Frankfurt will have the Germany’s first electric car charging station situated in a high-traffic area. The solar-powered electric car charging station provides free recharge for small-scale electric vehicles including electric bikes,  scooters, Velotaxis and Segways.

The Evergreen Solar panels located on the building’s roof will distribute power to the station which contains six charging ports. The  is situated in a major shopping district, allowing people to power their vehicles while they shop.

During the summer, the installation will produce approximately 21 kWh of electricity. This electric car charging station is a major step forward in helping to promote ecofriendly transportation and will serve as a model for the transportation industry.
