Philadelphia to Have Trash Compactors Powered by Solar Energy

BigBellys are the new trash compactors powered by solar energy, being installed on the streets of Philadelphia. What is amazing is that these bins are powered completely by the sun and are able to accept close to eight times as much waste as a regular trash can.

Wal-Mart doubles its solar projects

Retailing giant Wal-Mart announced that it intends to increase the percentage of solar energy used in its units during the following 18 months. BP Solar will install solar panels on rooftops of 10 to 20 stores and distribution centers in California.
