ACAL Energy is a UK company that has developed a new way to reduce the price for fuel cells by 40% and the amount of platinum used in fuel cell by as much as 80%. The company’s unique FlowCath technology allows them to use a catalyst and a mediator dissolved in a water-based solution.

The South Korean government has signed a MOU with oil refiner SK Energy and SK Engineering & Construction to build world’s first hydrogen station that will be able to extract hydrogen from methane emitted by landfills.

Unmanned Aerial System Runs on Hydrogen Fuel Cells

The world’s first long endurance, commercial hydrogen fuel cell powered Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) will be showcased at AUVSI in Washington on August 11. Developed by BlueBird Aero Systems, “Boomerang” is a electric powered 9kg UAS which can fly for over nine hours using a high performance hydrogen-electric power system from Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies.

A New Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Achieves 63% Efficiency

NGK Insulators Ltd developed a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) that achieved a lower heating value (LHV) of 63%, one of the highest in the world and uses hydrogen gas as fuel. The SOFC features an operating temperature of 800°C and  a power output of 700W.

Opel HydroGen4 Make Its First Appearance in Europe
