Scientists to Develop High-Performance Batteries Made from Algae

Researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden have developed a lightweight, flexible battery from a nuisance algae that blooms globally. The researchers had originally studying Cladophora algae’s potential as a thickening agent for pharmaceutical uses, but they accidentally discovered that the unique nanostructure made it ideal for energy storage.
