Avacos Solar helped the integration of 2 great newly developed technologies from Sanyo Canada Inc and DuROCK Alfacing International Inc. On one side Sanyo has developed a HIT (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) double bifacial solar photovoltaic module which has a 30% more efficiency than normal photovoltaic cells, while on the other hand DuROCK has developed a new Tio-Coating reflective roof membrane.

The Sanyo photovoltaic panel is able to generate energy from both sides and can be mounted on carports, canopies, porches and other types of coverings. The DuROCK Tio-Coating is a white reflective roof coating, which is able to reflect about 89% of the solar radiation. Covered with this type of coating, the double sided solar panel are able to double their efficiency. Besides this the reflecting roof membrane reduces the cooling costs during summer time.

The Sanyo-DuROCK system is able to generate 10KW power and it seems it will soon get to the market as the silicon factory from Salem, Oregon, that produces silicon for the Sanyo HIT panels has just started production.
